Fast Quotes!!
Santa Concrete mixes, pours, and finishes premium honed concrete surfaces that bring a luxury, architectural look to properties across Perth and a 40km radius.
Honed concrete utilizes the same high-strength natural stone mix as standard exposed aggregate, but instead of washing the top layer away, we use diamond-tool grinding machines to shave the surface down to a completely flat, perfectly smooth profile.
We manage your entire project from structural earthworks and steel mesh fixing to the final precision diamond grind and anti-slip seal, delivering a beautiful matte surface that looks premium and feels incredible underfoot.
Luxury Outdoor Polished Styles with High Anti-Slip Safety Tractions
Achieving a perfectly even stone exposure without patchy voids or rough machine ridges requires an elite level of timing and reliable local finishing workmanship.
Backed by 20+ years of trusted local experience across Western Australia, our skilled team uses the latest commercial grinding equipment to ensure your alfresco, pathway, or pool deck is finished to publication-grade standards.
We apply specialized penetrating sealers that protect the stone matrix from oil and grease while maintaining an optimal non-slip texture, giving you a seamless, weed-free outdoor surface built to endure.

Honed Concrete FAQs
Q: What is the main difference between honed concrete and exposed aggregate?
A: While both options use a high-stone concrete mix, the final texture is completely different. Exposed aggregate is washed with water on site to leave the stones sticking out in a rugged, bumpy profile. Honed concrete is left to harden completely, and then commercial diamond-tipped grinders are driven over the top to cut the stone and cement down flat, leaving a perfectly smooth, level surface that is much easier to walk on in bare feet.
Q: Is honed concrete slippery when wet around swimming pools?
A: No, honed concrete is highly slip-resistant and specifically engineered for outdoor wet areas. During the grinding process, we do not polish the floor to a high-gloss indoor shine; instead, we stop at a coarse matte stage (typically a 60 or 120-grit finish). We then apply a premium penetrating clear sealer mixed with an invisible anti-slip aggregate grip, giving you maximum traction around outdoor pool surrounds and alfresco areas.
Q: Can you hone an existing old concrete driveway or pathway?
A: It depends entirely on how the old slab was poured and the type of stone inside the original mix. For a honed finish to look professional, the stone aggregate needs to have been mixed evenly and floated near the surface during the original pour. If your existing concrete is structurally sound and has a high stone density, we can inspect it on site; otherwise, pouring a fresh, custom stone mix ensures a flawless, premium result.
Q: How do you clean and maintain outdoor honed concrete?
A: Maintenance is exceptionally simple because the surface is completely flat, seamless, and weed-free. Unlike traditional pavers, there are no joints for dirt to gather or weeds to sprout. A simple hose down or high-pressure water wash every few months is all it takes to remove outdoor dust or tire marks. To maintain deep stain resistance against pool chemicals and barbecue grease, we recommend applying a fresh coat of sealer every 3 to 5 years.
